About the Transmission

Velvet Radiation is the creative outlet of Peter Callaway. 

This project began as an exploration of concept albums—deep-space soundscapes and atmospheric narratives. 

It quickly evolved into an interwoven universe where the music provides the soundtrack for the novels and the novels provide the lore for the albums. 

My work is driven by themes of technology, rural mystery, and the influence of classic sci-fi, blending the uncanny folklore of Dorset with the vastness of space.

"At the age of 69, I decided it was the perfect time to fully embrace new technologies, including artificial intelligence, to bring my decades of thoughts, ideas, and experience to life in a creative way.

My creative process is one of enhancement and technical partnership:
 

Literary Vision: AI tools are used to assist in refining and structuring the lyrics for my musical concepts and helping to put the core ideas of the novels into clear, compelling words. The heavy lifting of storytelling, world-building, and artistic vision remains entirely my own.
 

Music Production: I use cutting-edge tools like Suno and Riffusion to quickly prototype musical ideas and sketches. These ideas are then brought into a professional Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) like Ableton, where I use various VST instruments and MIDI keyboards to shape, arrange, and fully produce the final tracks.
 

Final Output: This commitment to quality continues into production. Rough manuscripts are transformed into professionally formatted, self-published books using services like Reedsy, and I utilize various image creation tools to design compelling cover art and atmospheric visuals for the website.
